EMERGENCY LIGHTING

WHY SHOULD I INSTALL EMERGENCY LIGHTING

In the UK it is a legislation requirement that all occupied buildings have adequate escape lighting, in case the mains power fails. In the event of failure, occupants must be able to evacuate the premises safely.

WHY SHOULD I CHOOSE SPIRE SECURITY

Whatever your requirements we can install an emergency lighting system specifically designed for your property. We have highly trained engineers who can install all types of systems ranging from a simple communal area to a large warehouse. All systems would comply with both BS5266 and BS7671:2008 requirements.

WHAT IS EMERGENCY LIGHTING

The emergency luminaires have back-up batteries which are continuously charged during normal operation. If power fails the luminaire will last for at least 3 hours. The output should be approximately 10% of normal levels. Every emergency luminaire must have a green LED indicator to show it is charged and functional.

WHAT WE OFFER

The Fire Precautions (Workplace) Regulations 1997 & BS5266 part 1 – require building owners to test emergency lighting systems regularly and maintain they are in working order. This is something we can help with and dependent on requirements we can set up a maintenance schedule where the system is fully tested on an annual basis. We will also provide a log book whereby all testing carried out by the building owner and us can be recorded.
