EMERGENCY LIGHTING CERTIFICATE
Spire Security supply and install a number of emergency lighting systems which are a legal requirement for all occupied buildings in the UK. All systems comply with both BS5266 and BS7671:2008 requirements. It is vital that your emergency lighting is correctly installed and functions properly so that in the event of an emergency, the occupiers of the building can find a safe escape route.
What Is Emergency Lighting?
Here at Spire Security, we supply the Emergency Lighting Certificate to the business or building owner once we have fully installed the lighting system – along with a periodic inspection to provide a report of service.
Emergency Lighting have back up batteries which are continuously charged during normal operation. If power to the building fails, the emergency lighting batteries will last for at least 3 hours. The output of the emergency lighting is around 10% of normal levels. It is important for businesses and building owners to comply with legal requirements regarding emergency lighting and for their lighting system to be tested regularly.
